Event Overview:

As with everything in public health, we are seeing disproportionate effects of COVID-19 on racial and ethnic minorities. Based on data coming from some states in the US, there are disparities in who gets infected, gets tested, and dies from COVID-19. We also know that mental and behavioral health are frequently unaddressed in racial and ethnic minority communities. Given the growing evidence showing mental health effects of COVID-19, this panel discussion is focused on the roles communities and institutions can play in addressing racial and ethnic disparities in mental health care.
